Meteor Garden II 流星花園

I hate this sequel! It totally ruined the story! A waste of my time. The story, the first part of it, with Dow Ming-She going missing to until they found each other again took about 15 episodes! Really the whole story was ruined by Yea-Sa. I really hate her. Of course she’s not the whole why I hate it, the story was structured really badly. After they found each other, things began picking up pace. Why waste 13 episodes being apart? Exactly opposite of what the audience wants. The only reason I watched this was because I was so pumped about Meteor Garden I. The parents got more annoying too. The ending was really crummy too. Yea-Sa all of a sudden just sends a letter and says, Oh what the hell, I’m going to give up on Dow Ming-She now. Let’s get drunk some time! And then Dow Ming-She and San-Tsai got back together again in the last 15 mins episode. Enough said, sequels are bad, bad BAD. I’m now forever searching for a sequel that is actually good. I’ve heard The Outsiders II is good. But I’ll have to watch the first one first eh? I’ll begin soon, and continues if it is to my preference. Of course, It Started With a Kiss II I will definitely watch.

Meteor Garden I 流心星花園

This drama is also very good, even though it’s quite a bit older than the others. It’s another manga remake, which way be why the story is so good. Even though F4 except for Zai Zai looked really old fashioned, I still loved them. But Zai Zai hasn’t changed in 6 years, which is kind of weird and creepy. I liked Jerry’s earlier hairstyle, the Dow Ming-She one that came down when it was just washed. But then he changed to his now hairstyle which has also stayed the same for almost 5 years. I recently saw him at some awards place. Jerry did a really good job acting in Meteor Garden though, considering his real personality, which is quite the opposite of Dow Ming-She. I don’t really like Dah-S to be honest. But she’s crucial in the story so I can’t really say she shouldn’t be there. I’ve got to find out what happened to F4 after all these years. Zai Zai is still acting, his last drama was Silence. Jerry I saw recently, apparently, he has a rumor about being with Lin Zhe-Lin. They were all awkward. Ha Ha! I don’t like Lin Zhe-Lin at all, she can’t even speak English. Che! I’ll put Meteor Garden II in another post since I have quite a different opinion about it.

The Rose 薔薇之戀

Saw some of this a while ago. Don’t like it much though, it’s messed up. I respect the whole gay thing, but I don’t support it. People are too spoiled now a days. They’re so fragile, one hour in a world war scene and they’d be dead.
The thing that turned me from this was the sibling love. Totally inappropriate. I think, from a description I read, that all loving in this drama is between two people with some blood relation. That’s very messed up, gay, lesbian, bi I can tolerate and understand but this I just can’t. I have to admit, Joe Chen was pretty good at his role, even though I really hate it. Enough of this though. No pictures.

It Started With a Kiss 惡作劇之吻

This is my ultimately favourite drama. I LOVE THIS DRAMA! It’s the best drama ever made and broadcasted in Taiwan. Also, the best drama I’ve ever seen! I like it so much that I don’t know where to start…I’ve already written a paragraph stating that I like the drama…

Anyway, to the more important part, WHY I like this drama. (Gosh, I’m using so much CAPS). Well, first of all, it is, to put it simply, totally HILARIOUS! (There I go again…) The drama is so carefree; no pressure at all on the audience, except for maybe the suspense of Zhe- Shu’s way of liking Shain-Ching. There was also the fact that both Ariel Lin and Joe Chen are professional actors, which eliminates the constantly annoying bad acting of some of the main characters in other dramas. As you should well already know, It Started With a Kiss is a manga made drama. There also exists a Japanese drama from the same manga. It is widely known that the Taiwanese version is much better than the Japanese version. Considering the time it took to film it, half a year instead of the usual 3 months, it should be and deserve to be rated higher. I’ve heard that Shian Ching is really annoying in the Japanese version, which is not suprising because the character could easily go from the protagonist to the antagonist. This also proves that Ariel Lin is in fact a really good actress. Zhe-Shu is also quite different from any other character Joe Chen has played, which is also impressive. Or am I wrong? Correct me if I am.

Another thing is the character of Ah-Jin. In the manga, Itazura na Kiss, Ah-Jin is this totally ugly freak that nobody gives a shit about. But in the drama, Ah-Jin isn’t that bad. He’s hilarious without being annoying and in actual fact he’s not unattractive. It made me cry at the end how he worked so hard for Shian-Ching but never got her. Now on the other hand, if it were some one quite different, I would’ve told him to give the fuck up.

I’ll post the MV for the end song here, I actually didn’t find out about it until about a week later, I was all panicky, like, where’s that scene where they’re drawing hearts on the window, did I miss something, was there something cut off? I searched a forum then found out about the MV and went to YouTube and watched it. I loved how they filmed it separately, like an extra after the drama. I still have the last two episodes on my computer and I watch it whenever I feel like it. I love the ending, how they didn’t totally change but it was still a happily ever ending. But I didn’t like how the wedding turned out, bad attempt at creating humor. But all in all, it deserves 1st place.

Green Forest, My Home 綠光森林

Oh my God!!!! You have no idea how BAD this drama is. And I can't believe I kept watching until like the 10th episode. I kept hoping and hoping that Owen and Sophie would be together and that witch Susan would somehow die. But no, everything just HAD to be forgiven and that fricking Prince William had to have it all. ...Anyway I just decided to post this up to express my strong emotions for this drama.

No pics to honor my particular liking of this drama.

Smile Pasta 微笑pasta

I watched the first few episodes on a TV this summer when I was in Taiwan. I like how its not that serious and heartbreaking, its quite carefree and laidback and funny... When I couldn't find the 13th episode anywhere, i was panicking like crazy, then I asked around and found it a week later. But I'm not sure if it was because it didn't play for a week or something. But I did get episode 14 and 15 today. They're not finished downloading yet, but will soon. It's different how it wasn't originally a manga, but the story feels as if it is from one. Some people say how they hate manga turned dramas, but I actually find them better than the ones that are not, Smile pasta an exception of course. To be honest I don't really like the dramas that 183 club act in.

Anyway, once again to show my appreciation of all the hard work of making this drama possible, I will post up some pics! :

Magicians of Love 愛情魔髮師

Magicians of love was the second taiwanese drama I've seen. It was still doing it's first showing when I was in Taiwan this summer. My cousins kept saying it was really good and stuff. But the first episode I saw was soooo boring! It was the second to last episode when There was a whole bunch of talking that I had no idea about. To make it simple I thought it was tres mauvais. Then I saw the last episode the week after and I was like, ok this might be good. About a week later it started showing weekdays at 8pm. We watched the first episode and I was like...this is kind of good... but then we went to Taipei and always came home so late and didn't get a chance to watch it at all. when I came back to Canada, I immediately got it off the internet and watched it. It was actually really good, and when I watched the second to last episode I was like, Oh! so this is what they meant. Magicians of Love was good and all, but of course not the best! The best of the best is yet to come! I've already watched it, I post on it Later.

And of course to express my keen liking of this drama, I'll put some pictures:

Devil Beside You 惡魔在身邊

This is the first ever taiwanese drama I've ever seen. It's really really good! One of my favourites actually. I watched over the summer when I was in Taiwan. This drama was also like, the turning point, my interest in dramas started with the first drama I've ever seen. I didn't start on the first episode though. We were surfing the tube when my cousin stopped me and said this was a good show, so I decided to take a look. From that day forth, it was Devil Beside You every weekday at 11pm. The first episode I saw, I still remember, was the one when Yan Ping and Ah Mong were fighting. It was raining and everything... When I watched the last episode I never actually realized it was the last, the thought never occured that it would all end so fast. When I finished it, it was like an important piece of my life was gone...

Anyway, to express my liking of Devil Beside You I'll post up some pics.
